How it works

Claim a code
You get a short Forecall code, something like KTM-482, and a private studio link that only you hold. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

Prepare the voicemail
Record it in your own voice, or type the words and let the browser read them out. One message per person, so nobody ever hears something meant for somebody else.

Send them the code
They enter your code and their name, or open the direct link. They hear you out, and can leave a short reply that waits for you in the studio.
The calls people leave here
Not every message is bad news. Most of them are just the ones that go better when you have had a minute to choose your words.
The quote you are turning down
Thank the builder, name the reason, close it in forty seconds without the awkward pause.
The invitation you cannot accept
Warm, and without the ten minutes of finding another date that you both know will not happen.
The rep on their fifth attempt
One clear no, always available at your code, so you never have to say it a sixth time.
News you can only tell once
Record it calmly, let each person hear it when they are ready, and skip retelling it all evening.
The decision they want to argue with
Say the whole thing, start to finish, without being cut off halfway through the reason.
They can answer, just not mid sentence
Every prepared voicemail can take a reply: a recording or a few typed lines. The applicant says thank you and asks to be kept in mind. The builder wishes you luck with the job. Nobody is cut off, and nobody is put on the spot.
Replies land in your studio. You listen when you have the room for it, and there is no notification chasing you until you do.

Does this ring anybody's phone?
No. Forecall is a mailbox on the web, not a phone line. You give somebody your code or a direct link, they open it and hear you. Nothing dials, nothing interrupts.
Will they know the message was prepared?
Yes, and that is rather the point. A prepared message is not a dodge, it is a message you have actually thought about. Most people prefer a considered forty seconds to a call you spend trying to end.
Who else can hear it?
Only somebody holding the direct link, or somebody who knows your code plus the name or passphrase you set for that message. Each message is separate: one caller, one voicemail.
Can I delete something?
Yes. Deleting a voicemail from your studio removes the text, the recording and any replies to it, for good.
What does it cost?
Nothing while Forecall is this young. Your studio link is the only key to your mailbox, so keep it somewhere you will find it again.
